Thank you for posting the inforamtion for the articles. I also purchased Money Magazine. I left Iona College in May, 2019. I also wasn't happy with the acaemic environment at Iona College. I wanted to attend a small college -close to NYC.

Iona's campus is very nice, on the outside, and Iona has nice facilities, but once you are there, you learn the college is mis-managed with no structure.

The Tutoring Center - should be housed in Student Life Buidling - but it's off the track -downstairs in a basement. If Iona wasnted to promote academics, bring the tutoring center to the forefront. Iona doesn't care - they want to sell Iona on the gym, game room, cafeteria - because that's what high school students are interested in, but once you are on-campus for a year, and mature, like I did, I realized - Iona needs to implement a more constructed plan - to enhance academics and a social life.

Throughout my first academic year, I was in touch, via Facebook, social medic, texting, phone conversations, with my friends from High School, that chose and attend different colleges and universities, and I also visited them, spent days with them on their campus - What wondeful experiences I had.

The atmospheres were one of fun, academic excellence, learning, caring, and just unity on campus.

I was then able to first-hand compare my college life at Iona, with the college life at other campuses. Iona is lacking in so many support areas - and the other comments on this board - I had to also sadly say - are true.

Iona is just status-quo- accepting 93 percent of applicants, not on the Best and most Affordable College list - why pay

$50,000 to attend an underachieving college? Many of the professors are Adjunts - just part-time, so that also promotes a lack of a close-knit caring environment. The staff turn-over is high - because staff are underpaid, and Iona doesn't care about their staff members or offer programs for their staff to grow. I learned that from staff members I befreinded during my first year.

I chose a college that made the Top 50, and I spent time on the campus - going to classes, stayed at the dorm, met professors, and I looked for what was important to gain at college.

Iona, to me, has a long way to go, and if it was a college that

had offered a rewarding academic experience at affordable prices, it would have been on Money's List. Do research, spend days before you spend your savings and hard-earned money at Iona. Don't take out big student loans and go into debt, becasue you will have to pay all that money back - when you graduate. Make sure you enroll at a college that has major partnerships with corporations, institutions in all fields.

Ask for reports, and numbers of graduates that were hired? Where? What was their salary? At the end of the day, you want a JOB, in your field of choice - that's why you go to college.
