I've had a great time at Marquette. I'm not someone who would post reviews like this but after seeing negative reviews about Marquette I decided to write this. My freshman year was phenomenal. Regarding parties, It is obviously not as crazy as UW Madison but it is a lot of fun. If you're someone who plans to rage Thursday, Friday, and Saturday trust me you'll come here and be able to do so. If you're not someone that like to go out every weekend, you'll find people like that here also. It's a good mix. Some reviews say it's a terrible party school and some say it rages too much and is dangerous… I guess it's based on perspective but in my eyes, it's a perfect mix. I have friends that party all nights of the week and some who go out once every month. It's a good mix. Academically, there's hard classes depending on what you take. Some people have a super each course load based on major and their interest and others have a tremendous course load that requires a lot of work. It's really up to you. I've had experiences with professors that are super awesome and really care about the students but then some more general course have professors only here for the research, which it common at a ton of schools. Overall, most teachers are passionate about what they teach. Some reviews said there Marquette is full of a ton of stuck up rich kids. Ha ha, I mean there's definitely a couple. But there's also some really down to earth, funny, kind, etc. people here. Like all colleges/jobs/societies, there is a mix. Like everything else, you have the ability to choose to hang out with people you enjoy. In general, I've felt most people here are open and approachable and will get to know you if you let them. Basically, I just wanted to touch on a few topics and send positive feedback for a school I think deserves it. It's truly up to you to enjoy your school and I've had a great time here and I only get excited for the next years.
