Everyone is talking about great Laurier's Business program. But actually, the business courses are not fair starts from the 1st year. The project worth 30-35% in the first year bu courses are marked by the TA, which means TA's preferences and hard/easy marker can decide your life instead of your effort. The courses grades are affected greatly by the TA's interest. Then, when you get into 2nd/3rd year, this kind of thing happens again. The business office assign business courses for you and not let you to switch the section. The prof of business 2nd year courses are always different, and the exam papers vary with the profs and usually the average grades of different sections varies a lot . Therefore, your fate is decided by the office again. Additionally, when Laurier choose coop students, they don't care so much about your GPA. They set a low GPA requirement (about 8.3/12), and people who gets a GPA higher than that must show their experiences or activities to stand out (not their grades and knowledge).Overall, I think Laurier is not as good as I heard several years ago. I will recommend not choosing Laurier. |
