When I first began attending this school the thing that stuck out to me the most was how friendly everyone was. Almost everyone I met was approachable, helpful and genuinely nice. Buuuuuut this school is not for everyone im going to warn you now. You'll either hate it or love it NO IN BETWEEN. Like every school it has its pros and cons. The university is in a closed off location, almost like a private school. The campus is central and not too big, the academia is challenging yet durable and since the location is so isolated it makes it so much easier to stay in and study in peace and quiet when you need to. If your an outdoorsy person who loves mountains, beer, hiking and snow you'll love it here :) for people like me on the other hand born and raised in the inner city… it's quite an adjustment. Nevertheless, Everyone learns to fall in love with WCU's campus. The parties are GREAT and since the school is basically in the middle of nowhere there's so much freedom to get "intoxicated" without suffering the consequences. The school is great and I'd recommend it to everyone. The faculty cares about you. The class sizes are small and you have sooo much freedom! like I said you'll either love this school or hate it. I fell in love my freshman year but had to transfer for personal reasons. If your considering attending WCU definitely go for it. |
