This University does not practice what it preaches. The school encourages innovation and new ideas but if you are a Type A person who wants to make a difference it is nearly impossible. Students here do not get along at all and it is way more clicky than High School. Most students are athletes and if you're not an athlete forget ever getting any real perks. Also, athletes only hang out with their teammates and going outside of their groups is almost never seen. Greek life is hated at the University and every effort it taken to shut it down. Sad because as a Greek I have seen the opportunity for great things, but no one will buy into the idea, because everyone has their own ideas. I commend the new Innovation person as she is trying to do cool things, but I don't see her staying long. Had an awesome dean of students, he had great ideas, and really pushed for change but left. Probably because he had way better opportunities elsewhere. Administration only cares about incoming students. They work hard as hell to get you there and then forget about you. Unless you can really make a name for yourself, there is no hope of opportunity. It is truly sad that UC is thought of as a prestigious school, but in all reality is a conservative, traditional, clicky high school. |
