Stay far away from the Digital Media Program at UCF. Or better yet, stay far away from UCF'S Arts programs as much as possible! If you are looking to go into the Visual Arts, Animation, or Film careers, this school is definitely not for you. Professors don't know the material and my classmates haven't been able to find too many internships once they exit this program. If you wanna do Web or Video Game design, please study Computer Science, because this program will not help you. There are no programming courses required for This major, which is a huge concern. The professors also don't know what they're doing half of the time; the introductory courses taught things that even I knew were wrong. Also, don't do film; the best film UCF Graduated ever came out with was the original Blair Witch Project. This is a primarily STEM-based school and it shows in the quality of instruction the visual arts receives. The Performing Arts programs are solid but highly exclusive (The BFA in Theater only admits 12-16 students per year). If you wanna go for the arts, go elsewhere. This isn't the school for you. |
