I'll start with what I consider to be a pro: the library is amazing, the view from the dorms are great depending on how high your floor is, and the distance if you live in the Dallas area is not too bad. Cons on the other hand: registering for classes is a mess since they don't even tell you which professor you are registering for at times until the first two weeks before classes begin. There's a 50-50 chance you'll get a good one. The food here is a joke. You thought high school food was bad? It will seem like a 5 star restaurant once you come here. Get the $250 dining dollar plan if you don't want to disrespect your stomach with the "food". They try too hard to make things that sound great but once you look at it, you will be highly confused. Distance from the stark and Guinn hall dorms to class are the reason why it's hard to gain the freshman 15 here. Up to you to see that as a pro or con , especially during severe weather. Speaking of weather, invest in rain boots. Denton doesn't know anything about storm drains and you will find potholes filled with water everywhere you try to walk here during stormy weather. If you're using a roommate match, good luck not getting a roommate that is trash and knows how to have a good hygiene. Especially if they force you to be in a triple or quad. Keep in mind the rooms were never built for more than two people to live there. But of course, TWU doesn't care about your thoughts on that. Apartment prices are a joke, yet they sell out quick. Have fun during fire drills and tornado warnings if you live in the 7th floor and above since elevators are banned. Other days, elevator stops frequently. In the dorm AND in the library. People here are not that welcoming, so if you really wanna make friends, go ahead and go Greek. The clubs and organizations they have are trash in my opinion so I don't even waste my time with those. This is not a party school. UNT down the street is. 99.9% of professors are not Christian so like the other review said, good luck if you are. Overall, nobody I know is coming back next year. The transfer rate is ridicoulously high because this "university" is a scam.
