Mid way through our education the School of Nursing added the requirement that you pass an exit HESI with a score of 925 (national average is 850) in order to graduate and be able to take the NCLEX. The only reason they did this was so their first time NCLEX pass rate goes up. What good is it if 25-30% of the class did not graduate due to the HESI? If your education at the university is not good enough to pass the NCLEX without being restricted by an unfairly high HESI score, then there is a problem with the curriculum! If the students passed all the classes, then they should be permitted to graduate!!!
