I will be starting my final year at Gardner-Webb University in August. When I started at GWU, I was extremely homesick and wanted to commute after my first semester. Luckily about halfway in I met some amazing people and decided to stay on campus. There are several things that I LOVE about GWU. These things are: the Cesar salad in the cafe, the pretty landscaping, the honors program, my friends, the apartments, and the school gym.

The list seems pretty sad but its the only reason I am still attending this expensive school. I pay 42,0000 and I certainly have yet to get my moneys worth. I also don't understand why most of the dorms are falling apart but they keep updating the apartments? Coincidentally, where the majority of ALL the athletes reside. It's annoying when you know that the athlete beside you is googling all of their answers to the test but is on a full ride scholarship. Most professors let athletes slide with literally anything. The chances of any GWU athlete going pro is about -0000000.0001% but they all act like they own the school. As you can see, if you are a non-athletic regular person… well you aren't the schools priority. The only good athletic team is the mens soccer team. Other than that, don't waste your time going to a game.

Nursing students are obnoxious. All they do is complain about all the work they have and think every other major is a joke.

The business school is great but one major that they lack in is the CIS field. They literally only have one professor that can teach any of the required classes which doesn't give any type of variety in learning. All of the classes are super easy in the business school. Professors don't care about their jobs or you.

CMU (Christians ministries) are all very "holier than thou" with their attitudes. If you don't bring your bible with you everywhere and pray over your food… you can forget having any friends in CMU.

Cafe is usually bland and disgusting. Only thing good there is the cesar salad, pizza, burgers, and fries. Most of the cafeteria workers are rude. A-1 and ketchup will be your best friend. Make sure to go to the Cafe when they have athletes touring or a big school group coming because thats when they make the pretty tasty food.

Over all, if you are wanting a nursing degree then by all means this school is for you. If you are a less than average athlete looking for a free ride… COME ON DOWN.

Gardner-Webb is what you make it. You can make it a great experience or you can sulk in your dorm room. In order to succeed in the social life, you need to go out and join clubs. Professors are usually willing to help you if you consistently talk to them. It isn't a bad school, it's just not what it appears to be. I like GWU but I wouldn't go here if I could do it all over again.
