Being a quiet person during high school I thought it would be best to go to a small, private, local college. I thought it would be easier to make friends, get involved, etc. After freshman year I decided that I wanted to be more involved on campus. I thought this would be easier than at a larger public school, but I was wrong. Being involved in clubs, organizations, chapel, certain student jobs is based on who your friends are, who your siblings/family is, and what staff/faculty you know really well. Turns out I didn't know those people well enough & I repeatedly tried over 4 years without any success.

They try to attract/encourage new students to come with what they call NSI & now also Storm Surge. This initially sounds like a great experience, but the staff & student leaders make it miserable for new students who aren't naturally loud & don't particularly enjoy participating in athletic/physical events/games/activities.

The nursing program will give statistics about their NCLEX pass rate, graduation & employment rates, and reputation in the healthcare community that are false. Their NCLEX pass rate is NOT 100% and is actually one of the lowest in the area even when compared to ADN programs (this is from OK State BON website). The unique extern opportunity is available to nursing students at ANY university/college. The program also has a low retention rate because the allow anyone in so they can fill up seats and make money & doing well depends on knowing, saying & doing the right things with the professors/instructors, not knowledge, skills, and experience to provide safe & effective patient care.
