I truly wanted to give this school a chance, but after less than 2 months here I know Loyola isn't the right school for me, and will be transferring next semester. Here's some reasons why I wouldn't recommend Loyola to anyone unless you want to spend 4 more years in high school surrounded by arrogant snobs.

1.) In order to have a social life on campus or even make friends, you NEED to have a fake ID. I cannot stress the NEED part enough. Thursday-Saturday Loyola kids flock to the same 2 or 3 bars in the inner harbor, and it gets old after a while. Parties on campus are slim to none considering that there's no school spirit (there's no Greek Life or football team here). Campus life advertises events happening on campus but nobody attends.

2.) Making friends is incredibly hard unless you went to a private high school on the Northeast and went here with at least 6 people from your graduating class. Coming here from a public high school was hard, and kids here form cliques fast. I also wouldn't call myself an outcast or loner because I easily made friends in high school, but that isn't the case here. If you don't wear designer clothes or a lot of makeup to class, you'll be labeled and judged. The only person I'm semi close to here is my roommate, but even she has made friends here. I'm lonely all the time.

3.) The food here is mediocre at most. Boulder is the better choice than Iggys, but the same 10 options get after the first week.

4.) The residence halls here are not as great as people say. Campion's bathrooms are never cleaned and you're lucky if the elevators even work.

Loyola does a great job at luring people in because of the pretty campus and gothic style buildings, but don't be fooled. I will say that I've had amazing professors and classes so far, but I can find the same quality of education somewhere cheaper and closer to home. If you want to drink every night of the week and conform with likeminded idiots, then definitely apply to Loyola. This school has definitely sucked the life out of me, and I can't wait to go somewhere else. All of the other negative reviews on here are spot on and truly capture Loyola. You've been warned.
