As an out-of-State student who isn't LDS and is from a multi-ethnic background, Utah State University was a big change and at first, I had the attitude of get my degree and get outand felt the student body and university was very closed-in and favored the majority population (non-Hispanic white LDS). However, I was wrong. The university reaches their hearts out to everyone and my major was wonderful. I met my boyfriend here and made tons of friends (LDS and non-LDS). I met some friends in the dorms. However, I felt the dorms weren't really for me. If I can do it all over again, I would still go to Utah State University. However, I feel that I should of been in the dorms for one year instead of two as the second year became a disaster. I don't reccomend going past one year in the dorms unless if it's the ones that have full kitchens and don't require meal plans. I wished meal plans weren't required in any of the dorms. |
