As a student that has lived on campus, I made sure to get involved. I attended games, made friends and enjoyed my time there. It is not a "party" school- but if you truly think about it… your going to school to get a degree for your FUTURE. Not to go out everynight and drink.. (Just my opinion)

Although the school is very "cliquey" if you put yourself out there, it can be a great experience for you. The school provides a lot of opportunities for students to meet new people and get involved. It is a matter of your own ability to step out of your comfort zone and get involved.

Now… the Nursing School…

As a former nursing student, truly I do not regret going to Lewis. But I can't say I do/don't recommend Lewis.

**BUT, FIRST- I WANT TO MAKE IT VERY CLEAR- I HIGHLY RESPECT A GOOD AMOUNT OF THE PROFESSORS**

AM, DK, MK, KM!!!!, SG, LA!!!, CK (LAB), KM - are truly kind, caring, compassionate instructors. These instructors truly made me feel as though they wanted me to succeed. They worked so hard to make sure that I was always on top of my game and doing the best that I could. Until my senior year, I LOVED LEWIS, I loved going to school, and all of my instructors.

However, there is a select few professors that poison the whole staff. I really never thought teachers could make me feel so terrible about myself, until I met one instructor (we will call her M)… She picks favorites, and treats them with respect.

However, if you make 1 mistake, it seems as tho she goes out of her way to make your experience so difficult. If your not smart enough for her, or you do not agree with her, or for some reason she jus doesn't like you this teacher makes you feel so inadequate.

My personal experience with her wasn't as bad as some of my classmates. I've witnessed one student switch majors bc student X did not feel "intelligent enough"

There have been multiple occasions where I have personally seen M BULLY not only students but other faculty, and it is no secret.

To her, you are a number- no matter how well u perform in the clinical setting with patients. the NCLEX pass rate is the ONLY thign that matters. I just truly hope no student would have to go thru the things I saw my classmates go through. The school truly needs to take a closer look into this instructor.

Do not get me wrong, nursing school SHOULD be difficult. you are responsible for the lives of others, and mistakes can ruin a life. And this program truly does prepare you to be a great caregiver.

The instructors help you to develop professionally, especially McDaniel- she really helped my graduating class and MYSELF mature and develop as a person and a nurse. Her, Anne, Kloster, Arnold, Steph (a lot of others I am forgetting) they all really really care about you. They WANT u to be successful, and will go out of their way to make sure of it. They see u as a human being- a person, and really do care

And a lot of teachers will help you work through it- but not that one bad seed. She degrades you, and looks down on you if you struggle.
