I transferred to USF 2 years ago after earning my AA at a smaller university near Miami. I wanted a big school feel that made initiatives to value their students and implement the big ideas fueling the minds of the next generation of professionals. Not only is USF super research-focused and accredited, its teeming with student life - festivals, organizations, public demonstrations and free events. There are a lot of ways to get involved long-term through organizations that force you to grow as a person and as a student leader on campus. My professors have all seemed to care about my evolution as a student through their courses. I have never had trouble making an appointment or recieiving feedback from my professors. Every semester I'll think I've found my all time favorite professor or class, just to find another the next semester! You'll experience a lot of opportunities to reach outside your major through electives, professional associations and clubs, too.LOTS of trees on campus (fun fact: every street on campus is named after a different kind of tree). I havent run out of places to sit in read, or hang my hammock on one of the lawns. But the real fun is off campus at the many nearby parks, downtown Tampa exploration, Ybor City, Busch Gardens & Disney close by, and my ultimate Tampa-area excursion - Siesta Key beach (the most beautiful beach in the country) about 45 minutes to an hour away.I'll miss my school when I graduate this year. Go Bulls. |
