The negative is simple: Campus life suck, the university doesn't provide almost any funding for new organizations to grow and get students involved in non religious or academic activities. The people are surface level great but are also judgmental and simply have no tolerance for anything that disagree with. If you are looking for a university style experience I do not recommend you come here. If you are looking for anything special or looking forward to college football Saturdays or an amazing atmosphere I do not recommend you come here because very little students even attempt to get involved. The security has gotten more annoying than ever and the amount of rules and regulations for a group of people who are suppose to be adults are ridiculous. I am 22 years old and still feel like I am in high school because of all the regulations which doesn't allow people to grow which leads to very childlike minds among the student population. Everyone goes home every weekend rather than looking to be involved and to be honest my 4 years here have made me felt like a prisoner forced to go to church for 48 chapel credits. The education seems decent and I love much of the faculty here. However with all these regulations you are not allowed to grow as an individual because it is still high school. College is suppose to encourage you to experience things and grow and learn what you like but that simply is not encouraged at all here. And unfortunately I have grown more off campus than I have on campus… despite that I love the religious atmosphere I just simply wished they realize that what makes christianity beautiful is that it is a religion of choice, not a a religion you are force to follow. The positive: Some people you meet here are for a lifetime, many teachers are available for help and despite the awful food the cafe staff has been some of the most amazing people I met |
