Class of 2005. The weather was miserable. The food was painful, usually going in and often going out. The academics, by any measure, were excessive. GCC values Christian identity more highly than subject matter expertise, experience, and/or industry connections in the hiring of its full-time faculty. The adjunct faculty members were decidedly more qualified and enjoyable. Read the Crimson in its entirety. Social life was non-existent (ice-cream socials do not qualify, ever). Intercollegiate athletics were a joke. Name recognition outside of the Pittsburgh area is poor at best (sample areas include DC, MD, SC, CO, HI, NY and OH). I?ve ceased mentioning the school's name in conversation as people rightly ask if it?s a community college. GCC doesn?t ?give? you the computer until you graduate. If you are LGBT avoid this place. I?m an Ally and you're better than this school.Would I attend GCC again? Absolutely not. I hope this information helps you with your decisions. |
