The head of academic advising, Jill Oberfeitinger, will actively accuse and harass students of cheating on arts and lectures event credits without presenting her evidence or the witnesses who presented the claim to her. Rather than handling these matters behind closed doors, she will go out of her way to use her power as one of the handlers for the ID readers at arts and lectures events to harass you, expecting you to immediately see an email right after she sent it demanding a meeting in her office and degrading you as an individual for not immediately reporting to her like a good little automaton; additionally, she and those organizing the arts and lectures events do not themselves understand that their language implies a certain vagueness for event end times (phrases such as "12-ish" and "around noon"), and she does not have any interest in accepting requests to leave early during Q&A end portions of events when a student may have a class immediately afterwards. Do not attend this university unless you're ready to play a game of avoiding an academic advising head who has gone mad with power. She has no interest in you as a student besides someone that she can speak down to and demean due to having power over you; avoid like the plague if you don't want your time better spent writing papers for wonderful professors wasted by her bitterness. |
