As a high school senior I was accepted to many amazing colleges such as Reed, Sarah Lawrence, Bard, Oberlin, and so on. My decision was tough, but Bennington was the perfect choice for me. I was afraid of going to such a small school coming from NYC. I feared that Bennington might lack a stimulating social and educational experience, however I could not have been more wrong. The community is tight-knit and filled with creative, artistic, smart minds that are all different, but compliment each other. I receive more attention from teachers as a result of the small environment and I still find myself meeting new people everyday due to the mingling of different grades. I have never had busy work and the work is never meaningless. My assignments have been challenging and thought provoking. I am a student who is very on top of their work and that is key to success at Bennington. The amount of freedom can be daunting, but for a student who can keep themselves organized it is a great fit. The education is rigorous, but not stressful. Bennington expects students to be on top of their own work. |
