On paper GW seems like a nice school with a fostering community however after 2 years at the school I can tell you that it?s the opposite. Firstly, the Professors and advisors are genuinely some of the most unhelpful people I?ve ever met. The professors are top in their fields which seems like a good thing but all this means is that they are professors on the side and don?t actually care about teaching. The advising team is useless and will not help you w course selection, grading issues etc. I know people who went to an advisor and were told to take specific classes but later it was revealed that those classes were not necessary for graduation and as a result those people needed to make up credits. To be frank, the social scene is only fun if you can afford to spend $20 for cover at night clubs and then drinks on top of that. For the most part the student body is wealthy but not the generous, down to earth, old money kind but the self absorbed nouveau riche, having money is a personality trait kind. If you can?t keep up with their spending or afford to go to clubs there?s not much a night life besides frat parties which mostly take place at rented out clubs or off campus apt?s/houses. For the price of tuition this school is not worth it whatsoever as even the dorms are run down and gross. The only positive I can write about is the dining plan but that?s about it.
