The school has undoubtedly a reputation within the Midwest on been

challenging yet rewarding
Altlhough, it is challenging, I m confident it is not rewarding.

Be careful ! Think again !

In the Chemistry department, I have encountered silent malevolence, pride, disrespect, condescendance and bully. The worst part is, they encourage you to have the courage to report a staff member bully, while simultaneously justify their behaviors. I was alone and odd.

Across the room, almost everytime, I would catch a professor reading me. Trying to depict my thoughts, in other words, I lacked privacy. Now imagine how uncomfortable it may have been for an empath like me.

I refuse to see the school for what is was not. It has issues and everyone seemed blind or choosed to be. I taught myself most of my course work and it made me better, more eloquant.

The school is :

  • Small,semi-private university, located in spectacular area.
  • # 6 for Petroleum Engineering (national)
  • # 54 best national engineering school
  • The school is not :

  • yet a Nobel Prize material
  • The average salary of an engineering graduate student is the same for a graduate from FIU.
  • Not innovative nor Creative ( which is why they not comparable to MIT)
  • This school is for you if :

  • You have failed to enter the Ivy leagues.
  • You are pretentious and have a great sense of pride about the school even before attending it.
  • This school is not for you if:

  • You are looking for an education similar that of the IVY leagues (I know that because I attended an IVY league after mines)
  • You are innovative and creative.
  • But if you choose the school regardless, remember, Know Thyself !
