Although no employer has ever asked me about the classes I took or my grades, I know that just listing my degree from the University of Michigan on my resume has helped me. I wish I had given more thought to what "real world" skills I might need after college. I found that the English department, in particular, seemed far more interested in career ivory tower dwellers than with people entering careers. I think that I should have spent more time in the Career Planning and Placement office that the University provides, rather than relying on my department. |
