I began my college career at a small (1500 students), liberal arts school and ended up at the University of Michigan—a giant school that's built into a city with the largest football stadium in the nation. Not exactly what I started out with. I thought that I'd want a small college, just like my rather small high school, which I loved. I was mistaken. I began as a Microbiology major. I'm graduating with a degree in English. Parents: don't pressure your kids into being something they discover they aren't. And Students: Don't let yourself be unhappy. Work hard, do your best…but ultimately you have to make a choice that will satisfy you. |
