The academics are generally for real. You should be working pretty hard here. If you aren't, you're either brilliant or getting Cs. In your personal life, if you're patient you'll find a bunch of people that you enjoy hanging out with. As for school spirit, there is nothing that beats Duke especially during basketball season. There is the perception that Durham has nothing to offer. That is bogus. It's not Boston, but it's not dead with corn fields around it either. In general, if you have to be in the city don't come to Duke. If you have to work 24-7 to love yourself, don't come. If all you want to do is party all the time, don't come. If you're willing to mix it up a little and live a balanced life, try it out. |
