Ga. Tech is not one of those schools where someone is going to hold your hand and root you on while you study. There are no free rides here, and not a whole lot of support. You may have been the resident genius in high school with a 1600 SAT and a 4.0 GPA, but once you come to Tech, you will be average at best. This place will tear you down, humble you, and then your successes will buoy you up again. If you want it bad enough, you will learn more here than any other University in the Southeast (and believe me, I know, because I transferred to Tech from another University) Why do you learn more at Tech? Because you pretty much taught it to yourself. The pace is what is so mind boggling, it never lets up. Rarely do people at this school graduate on a 4 year plan. Only a few people actually do graduate in 4 years (they are the 190 and above IQ's with organizational skills Bill Gates wishes he had, not the run of the mill 160 IQ's that Tech gets a lot of). You have to be more than smart; you have to be high energy, and great at managing your time.

If you want to go to an impressive school where they hold your hand and guarantee you an A for your efforts, then go to Harvard. If you want a degree in the Sciences or Engineering fields, and you want to beat out every other applicant for the jobs you apply, go to Tech, and stop whining.
