If you mess up once in the beginning and you don't have faculty on your side, you are done for. Always speak up because if you don't then you will get crushed. If you have a bad feeling about a class, don't be afraid to withdraw, it's better than an F. If you have a bad feeling about a teacher and you can't communicate, get out of that class. Some professors believe they are God's gift to their profession, let them think that and do your best to get that class over with. If you're in the music program just deal with Cyril Stretansky, there is no way around him. If you have a big course load, stay away from night classes.
