Hi,
I am a recent graduate of UWA. My major course of study was in chemistry. I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry. My advice to those students who are just beginning their search for a suitable univeristy to attend for their undergraduate degree is to really define what they hope to gain from that university at the end of their undergraduate stay, because just about anyone can go to college an obtain a peice of paper. I personally was looking for a university were I could get indiviualized attention so that my needs as a student would be meet. I also looked for an environment were I could mature both educationally and Socially. To this fact, I looked for a faculty adminstration that was geniually intereseted in the education and social developement of the students.

, I feel that thanks to the professors I encountered at The University of West Alabama, I was exceptionally prepared for the amount of dedication and hard work required as a graduate student. Just given an education alone would have left me in absolute dismay at the amount of work required to complete a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry.

So again, my advice is to choose your schools well because it could seriously effect the rest of your educational career.
