Date: Oct 28 2004 Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time) The knowledge that I acquired as a student at LTC-Lafayette has proved to be very valuable. I use nearly all the practical skills on a daily basis. (ie: Word, Excel, Access DBase, Quickbooks, letter writing, math, electronic calculators, computer application (Windows XP, job skills, legal terminology, medical terminology, accounting, payroll, records management, and more) Every subject in my curriculum has been benefical. I feel so very blessed to have had tough instructors who cared about me as a person and as a student and were always encouraging. I am thankful that they have enriched my life greatly. I feel I have the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in the bookkeping business I opened this year. I encourage all new students to work hard, study hard, and come to the realization that the roads in life are uncertain and they never know which ones will lead them to a better life. Education is so very important and no one can take away the knowledge they acquire. They need to get involved in the clubs and take on leadership rolls. This will help them in their professional and personal life. I am so glad that I was a member and president of PBL while a student. I won 1st place in a state leadership competition that is proudly displayed in my office today. I use the skills gained in organizations that I am now am a part of in my community.
