Despite some complaints I might have about Conn, I love it here and I am proud to say that I am a student. This school, compared to others of similar reputation in the New England area, HELPS prepare you for the future in terms of a career if you put in the effort. The opportunities for funded internships and study abroad are incredible, and I really appreciate the chance I have of building up a resume before I graduate. There are almost no Teaching Assistants here, which ensures that you will be taught by a professor trained to teach you in your chosen field. The campus is small, and while the setting isn't for everyone, I love knowing that I can dash anywhere on campus in about 5 minutes.
People knock New London a lot, claiming that there isn't anything to do. I, personally, have not had a problem. Mystic is 15 minutes away (great shopping and food) and there are two incredible beaches not far from campus. Most of the social scene is on campus, which I enjoy, but isn't ideal for everyone.
Overall, I would strongly recommend Conn as a school, and urge people to apply and visit to see if it is a good school for them.
