Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
Like most other college students, I did not have the opportunity to seriously attend another college (aka transfer). Therefore, please take my opinion, as with all other opinions with a grain of salt. Academics: I am a science major. Our chemistry, math and physics are top notch. I highly recommend them. If you are considering biology or geology, on the other hand, they are good, but not the best. Research opportunities here are plentiful, and very rewarding. The professors are approachable for the most part, and reasonable. I would say the amount of work here is doable for the science major, though at times a bit overwhelming. Classes are discussion based, so if you are the lecture type, please be hesistant about considering a small liberal arts college.Social Life: The college is good about helping you find friends and feeling welcome your first year. After that, you're on your own, but most do find very good friends here. There may not be a lot of people, but they are not so homogeneous that there is no variety. We do have the resources of the 5C's here, which is a huge plus for the small LAC (liberal arts college. There are always still people you can meet even senior year. Relationships here (as in dating) are very strange here. Either they are hookups or serious. There is hardly an in between. Food: Once again the 5C resource is great positive. If you should get tired of one dining hall, you can always go to another. The quality of food overall is good. Dorms: Personally, I've had singles my entire career except my sophomore year. Many have had singles there entire college experience. There are positives to having a roommate, though, so do no be closed off to the idea having a roommate. The dorms are very nice here. That's probably an understatement. If you are looking for a laid back, welcoming atmoshpere this is the place to go. Before choosing, first consider whether or not you are the small school type. The campus can get claustrophobic very quick, and sometimes, unless you have a car, it is hard to get out. The party scene, after 3 years of it, gets old. While this is a real negative, the school, compared to other small LACs does have the resources of the consortium nearby. It is also rich, and willinlg to make its students happy. Visit and listen to what other students have to say.
