California Baptist University is a great college although not for every type of person. For some people it is too expensive. For others it does not have their desired area of study. Others prefer a larger campus and student body. I prefer Calbaptist because it is an encouraging and homey atmosphere for me. I can tell that the faculty want me to succeed and there are numerous resources available right on campus for us to use. They have the Academic Resources Center which provides tutoring, retaking of tests, workshops, and other helps. The key to Calbaptist is taking the initiative. Going and using the tools which are at your fingertips. Also, there are countless job opportunities on campus which make having a partime job ridiculously easy. You can work in the cafe, for public safety, for Academic Resourses Center, Library, Student government, Campus services, Campus ministries, Campus life, the Registrar, Piano accompanists, tutoring, and many other opportunities all these without having to leave the campus. Also because you are a student it is far easier to get a job based on your enrollment. Calbaptist is a good college and it is growing a lot right now! Check it out!

questionHi there. I saw your rating of CBU on studentreviews.com and I had a few questions. I am a 26 year old student who has about 60 units that I earned at a junior college in northern Cali. I want to transfer to CBU for Spring 2011. I filed my FAFSA after the March deadline, so I won't get my Cal grant. I am unemployed and my EFC was 00098. I know I am eligible for a Pell grant. I want to attend CBU as a full time student and live on campus. I don't know my GPA for sure, but it may be 3.0 - So I don't know if I will qualify for any CBU grants or scholarships. I want to know how to pay for the tuition. The tuition will be about 19 to 20 thousand dollars a semester and if I only have 5 thousand dollars from a pell grant, how can I pay the rest? I do want to work on campus, but that won't pay that much and I would like to set up payment plans. I have bad credit and I owe back taxes, so I don't know if I can get a student loan! I don't have any music talents or athletic abilities for scholarships. I did look at fastweb for scholarships, but I don't know when to apply. If I want to apply to CBU this October, and God willing be accepted January of next year, when would be a good time to apply for scholarships? What should I do? How much do I have to pay at registration and if I can't pay, will I get kicked off campus? Please give me any advice you may have. Thank you.
