Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
Widener University has one of the best certified school nurse programs in the Philadelphia area, I know as I looked at all of them within a 15 mile radius of the city of Philadelphia prior to enrolling. This University provides a readily accessible certified school nurse program, especially for the full-time working health care professional. The content was well-focused, timely, and extremely helpful in performing the role of a PA or NJ School Nurse in 2005. The faculty are extraordinarily knowledgable, helpful, and accessible via the campus intranet website. My only wish would be that the Master's in Nursing curricula was so readily available to full-time health care professionals. Most employers would not be willing to give employees two mornings, or afternoons, off per week for collegiate courses. The lack of flexibility with the MSN courses has made the pursuit of an advanced degree close to impossible to achieve at this university. Perhaps this is any area the faculty will address in the future, and schedule a lot of the MSN programs similarly to the Graduate Business courses.
