I am not quite articulate enough to express the den of lies that is Sherman College! As a recent graduate of the "school", and I use that term loosely, I am both disgruntled and appalled by this "institution." Cult would perhaps be a more fitting word. In retrospect, I should have listened to my gut instinct. With Timothy Leary quotes displayed during my campus tour all the warning signs and red flags were in place. However, at the urging of friends and family, I gave it a chance. No one warns you about the ensnaring process that is Sherman. With tuition rates, or should I say cult membership fees, at almost $6K per quarter before you know it you are so far in that there's no turning back. You have essentially signed your life away. People come out of Sherman so far in debt they will never see the light of day!! Also, it is important to mention that chiropractors, not just Sherman grads, have the highest default rate on student loans of any other profession!! Next on my list is the philosophical brainwashing that you will endure on a daily basis. This is the cult mentality referenced earlier. The philosophy at Sherman is God-like. I learned early not to rock the boat. This is seen in the faculty as well. They are like herds of cattle, b/c they know if they speak against the philosophy they will be relieved of their duties at Sherman. Now, on to the "college" credits you earn in this "doctoral" program. Sherman also fails to tell you that the educational credits you are earning are barely Masters level and that they will not transfer to any other institution!!! And as far as getting a job other than chiropractic once you graduate…forget it!!! Adding chiropractic to your resume is toxic. Trust me on this b/c I have experienced it first hand. This is just the tip of the iceburg concerning my views on Sherman. I wish this message could reach everyone who is even entertaining attending chiropractic school, especially Sherman! However, if this message only reaches a few people and persuades them to make a better choice than I did then it has been successful.
