Don't worry about the drugs. Reed doesn't have more drug use/abuse than any other school in the country; the students are just more open about it. And they don't peer-pressure you or anything. BUT, do expect openmindedness, at least the liberal idea of openmindedness. Most students wouldn't consider themselves "Atheists, Communists, and Free Lovers," but they might agree with "Agnosticism, Socialism, and Safe Sex."Don't come here if your #1 priority is to get a high-paying job right after undergrad school. Or if you want to learn to be a cutthroat businessperson (go to NYU Stern for that). Do come if you are seriously considering getting a PhD, or learning for learning's sake. I accepted my decision despite wanting to major in Art and despite getting accepted to RISD (and NYU).
