I was torn between Fordham, Quinnipiac, and Sacred Heart when I was trying to choose which school to attend. After touring all 3 campuses in late April, Sacred Heart was the school where I felt the kids were the friendliest, and that provided me the most personalized attention. Looking back, it was the best decision I ever made. While everyday may not have been a party, the school provided a wonderful learning environment, excellent faculty who genuinely care about their students, a good social life, and a friendly, caring, loving student body. I may not have been best friends with everybody but everybody respected each other, and I was fortunate enough to be part of a close knit group of friends. I will never say the social life was like "Animal House" but we had a good time tailgaiting at football, hockey, and basketball games, going to The Page, the Skybox, New Haven, Fairfield. I saw someone complained about the dorms, and maybe times have changed but not many other colleges that I looked at had central air, wireless, housekeeping. One reason I didn't go to Quinnipiac was because there were 4-5 people in a freshman dormroom. SHU is definitely a school worth looking at if you want to have a good time at a medium sized school with a reputable academic program. I had a full time job within 2 weeks of graduation and continue to excel today. Good luck with the HS search but don't pay too much attention to all the complainers because I guarantee you these people are the same people who don't do anything to get involed at SHU and/or are the kids who do poorly academically because SHU challenges them.
