I came to SCCC entirely by accident. Originally I was slated to attend SUNY Geneseo, but was so unimpressed with the campus there that I withdrew my admission and applied to SCCC instead, which turned out to be the best decision I ever made! If you are looking to transfer to a four year college after getting your basic courses done, for the cost and quality of education SCCC is perfect for those in the Albany area. Don't worry about people who try to tell you that a community college education won't be up to par with four year schools; I applied to NYU, American University, and Binghamton University, and was accepted at all three no problem…in fact, I've found that the material covered at SCCC was taught with much greater depth and involvement than at my current school. Professors really care about YOU, and the diversity on campus ranges from all colors, ages, and backgrounds. The campus itself is going through changes right now as it prepares to build dorms and complete a new wing for Hotel Management/Restaurant Management majors. Really, if you want a good prep before going to a four year school, you will get it here.
