I really enjoyed Brookdale, and it really did prepare me for the future. I am now going to TCNJ as a Jr, and I graduated from Brookdale with a 3.7 and an A. A. degree in Psychology. Classes were challenging enough, but they were also interesting and beneficial. People go to Brookdale for a wide variety of reasons, but personally, I went to save money for the first 2 years. I feel that I have gotten my money's worth and learned a lot. Also, all of my credits transfered to my new school fully.

At Brookdale, the student body is generally nice and diverse. I had people from all ages in my classes, so it did not feel like high school at all. In fact, I was in a more "mature" setting there rather than the one I am in currently. Faculty is approachable and friendly. If you are having a problem, let them know, and they will do all that is in their power to help you. Classes are small, which is good, because professors will know you on a name-basis and be able to help you better.

The only downside to Brookdale is the lack of social opportunities. Like any school, there are opportunities to meet people by getting involved in clubs or by being your friendly self in classes. However, everyone leaves and goes home after classes, which is a disadvantage compared to attend a four-year school. This makes it harder to meet people. I still had friends back at home, so this did not bother me, but if you are looking for a whole new "crowd," Brookdale is probably not the place to go.

Although Brookdale is not for everyone, I generally liked my experience there. The campus is pretty, the professors are helpful and interesting, plus the classes there will prepare you for whatever it is you want to do. I do not regret going there for my first 2 years of college.
