THE SCHOOL IS JUST BAD…there is nothing else that can be said, the students are close-minded anti-social mob… no1 makes the effort to interact and get to know others… partially due to quarter system (sucks!) and they way the school is built.. the professors are okay and would help you if you go to them, but their office hours are limited since most of them are researchers. It extremely hard to get A's in your classes especially in science classes since professors expect you to treat their class like its the only class you got, and with the sheer number of students in your classes it just makes it impossible to seek help/ to get help/to understand/to feel comfortable… students here do not help each others.. too much competition, and professors can only help you so much with such little time, the only place you got hope in is your TA, TA= over worked/overwhelmed grad students… your 4yrs at ucsd will be lonely cold, really busy,self-taught, disappointment most likely… ucsd is the kinda place where at end of each quarter you do not look forward to getting you grades cuz you know the highest you pulled of would be B- or less… no lie…ask around… if you are a premed steer clear and if you must come here i advice you avoid the bio dept at all cost. Overall cold school with messed social atmosphere, nice looking campus, good name, decent research and less then mediocre education…
