I applied to Tampa Tech on a Government Pell Grant, due to the fact I was unable to get funding. During my time there the Teachers had no knowledge of their training or were never in the field. The teachers were fellow students and had no on the job training. Since I have applied for a Pell Grant to go there, now I am being told after 12 years that I am at fault for a Student loan that was made in my name, funny because I was not approved and now the Florida Board of Education wants the money back that Tampa Tech took from the lenders and for me to pay it. No wonder why the FBI raided the campus, the loan officers were getting kick backs for getting student enrolled and financed. And now I am to pay that back for their mistakes. That school was a joke as far as Education and never gave what it said it would to the student. Now it is run by another Institute and change the name of the school when it closed down. If your in the same boat as me and I know there are others, contact the Attorney General and let them know that they took you too.

Was anything ever done about your loans? Were they eventually discharged?

It wasn't the FBI. It was the department of Education. They just looked like the FBI. I was a dga instructor there. And I had over a dozen years of field experience in video production and commercial art working on productions at Paramount Studios, Dick Clark Productions, etc. I also had another ten years of experience working as a DJ in both nightclubs and radio stations such as Z100 and KMHD in Portland, OR. My bachelors degree was in Mass Communications with a focus in Film Production, and my associates degree was in Radio Broadcasting. The education wasn't a joke. My graduates often thanked me for helping them to get jobs with what I taught them.
