I transferred from Penn State and let me tell you, best thing I've done in my life. Del Val is the best school I've been to by far simply because the teachers, once you reach your upper level courses, honestly care about what you are going to do in your life. Granted, there's 2 Math teachers who speak rough English, 1 Math teacher who can't teach (all 3 are lower level math), 1 Chemistry teacher who you either like or don't like, a Bio teacher who EVERYONE hates (she's biased and doesn't care), and an IT teacher who doesn't speak English very well and could be slightly stupid. Every school has its bad teachers, Del Val is no different. The different clubs, organizations and Greek life organizations offer a LOT of things to do in your spare time, especially when it's warm outside. There are also opportunities for students to really get involved with the community. If you're not in some Agriculture major, Turf Management, or Agribusiness-like major you might not want to come here. Although, the English and Teaching majors have really taken off and have a lot of resources on campus to succeed. The only people who don't like Del Val don't like to adjust to a Southern style. Yes, there currently is no ban on Dixie(the Confederate flag for non-Southerners) being displayed anywhere on campus, and the dorms are a bit small except for South(which rumor is you won't have to pay to get into any longer) but this school is SMALL what can you expect? There have been a lot of rumors going around that they're going to rebuild the dorms so that they are more apartment-like in appearance to make life easier. These dorms are like any other small college dorms, I even consider them a little better than Penn State dorms and I lived there for 2 years. Trust me, Del Val is a good choice, just not for anyone not of Liberal mind AND their Equine Studies program is full of bitches, so don't do that either or you'll turn into a hated person on campus. The Equine Studies girls aren't well liked ANYWHERE on campus because they're known for being stuck up and snotty, plus the studies program isn't so great to begin with. Equine Science is their stronger horse-related program.
