I just came here to take Organic Chemistry during the summer through the Summer Science Institute from a different school. It was the biggest mistake and waste of money ever. Speaking from the perspective of someone who only took 1 class and lab here and didnt get the grades I wanted, I would say never come here. You have better luck taking Orgo somewhere else. The program is unbalanced as your performance depends solely on the teacher and nothing else. They have this little slogan "Eat Sleep Science" and that's definitely true; however, there needs to be a 4th word which is "Luck". You have the same class with one teacher and can do alot better or pass than with another. The killing part is that the majority of the people in this program arent from Capital so they have no idea who the teachers are and they specifically say on the first day that you cant switch. Some of the teachers dont seem to realize that there is only 3 days to learn 3 weeks of material and not actually 3 weeks for tests every week. Thats how all the low averages come about. They say go to the tutoring center and the review sessions but those are pretty much run by TAs who pretty much either are there to collect a paycheck or legitimately dont have a clue about orgo or care and scoff at the thought of a student really needing help. $1700 to take classes in which its impossible to learn anything and work on labs in which essentially nothing works in them and its counted against you if their equipment is faulty. Labs take 3 days a week for 4 hours, and in those 4 hours you are essentially either doing nothing important or waiting for something to occur. A waste of time that could be used studying for the lecture. The sad part is that alot of people drop out after the first week after they fail the first exam, not because they're stupid, but because the teacher consistently misleads them and offers no real support to learn outside of class. if you're unlucky and have one of the hardest teachers, no matter what you do you wont get the grades you want.

So if you somehow randomly come across the ad for classes next year and think that getting a years worth of material is a good idea, I suggest not coming here as you will regret it. its not worth the money, time, or stress
