Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I transferred here for the spring of 2013 from one of Connecticut?s terrible public universities and couldn?t be happier. I read reviews about this place all over the internet and have to admit I was a little skeptical about coming here at first, but with about a month left to the semester it?s turned out to be the best decision I?ve ever made. If you come in with an open mind, this place is an amazing experience, and all the complaints on this site and others seem sort of like a joke and written by people who couldn?t put two and two together. If you couldn?t figure out that a PRIVATE university in FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CONNECTICUT wouldn?t be very diverse, you?re an idiot. If you?re a minority and are uncomfortable being a minority to a white majority, don?t come here. If you also couldn?t figure out that a lot of the kids that go to a university that costs around 50k a year are upper middle to upper class, again, you?re an idiot. There?s always going to be people in the world who have nicer toys than you, if you?re insecure about your own socioeconomic status to the point that seeing kids with nicer clothes, newer phones, and more expensive cars than you makes you miserable, again, don?t come here. Kids from all over the tri-state area go to this school, and if occasionally hearing someone who talks a little different than you or has some different mannerisms than you drives you nuts, once again, don?t come here. All the things people love to hate about this school are things I can?t take seriously, and when I hear somebody complain about this place all I usually hear is something along the lines of, I?m boring, unfriendly, and off-putting, I stay in my room and watch netflix all day and go home on the weekends. This school sucks! These whiners usually transfer to somewhere back home, graduate in 5 or 6 years or just drop out and end up living with their parents into their late 20s. Everybody I?ve met who loved this place was cool and full of life, everyone I met who hated it was usually boring as sh—The professors and the academics definitely exceeded expectations. Especially the business department. Every time I sent someone an e-mail or needed help with something I was given a response in under an hour every time. Sometimes a phone call or face-to-face meeting. My business classes were phenomenal, and I never once felt like I was being given busy work like at my old school. Overall, the business school here is great and entirely focuses on getting you ready for a career in your field. All my professors know my name, and I have never had a negative experience with any of them. The one thing I want to praise over everything at this school is the people, as I found in most of the negative reviews I read this was a chief complaint. The kids who go here are some of the coolest, interesting, and fun people I?ve ever met. They?re always down to do something and are always happy and friendly. I remember at my old school talking to people made me depressed, cause at places like UCONN and the Connecticut state schools nobody wanted to talk to anybody outside of their hometown or high school clique. I make new friends here every day, and I?ve had total strangers say hi to me, tell me to have a good weekend, or give me something just out of sheer kindness. Oh, and not to mention the girls here have to be some of the hottest girls in the tri-state area. It?s like admissions looked at everyone?s facebooks and made sure they were fine as hell before sending out the acceptance letter. As a guy, walking around a campus full of dimes is incredible.I remember my business communications professor said that he and some other students conducted a survey to find out why students liked or didn?t like Sacred Heart. They found that the kids with lame high school memorabilia and photos from high school were miserable and usually flunked out or transferred to somewhere closer to home and the kids that loved it had fully embraced college life and forgotten all about high school life and high school friends. If the first description sounds like you, definitely don?t come here. There?s nothing worse than meeting the kids who don?t like it here cause they?re not in the safe bubble of their stupid high school clique anymore. If spending four more years with the kids you went to high school with and reliving your lame high school experience is why you came to college, go to UCONN or one of the joke state universities, Sacred Heart?s definitely not the place for you. Sacred Heart takes you and shapes you into the person you were always capable of being, and provides an atmosphere you?ll never find at another university. I wrote this review because I really like the place that much to use my free time to let others thinking about coming here to do the same, that speaks for itself.
