This is a fantastic school, but it's not for the faint of heart. It focuses on learning what you study, not just getting a degree. Because the school is smaller, and the friendliness of small-town America, getting things done in administration is a lot easier than in other schools. On the flip side, advisors are not as knowledgeable about things like career paths, alternative studies, and requirements for degrees or graduate school. You have to find out on your own. It's a very isolated town, right in the middle of Alaska, so there's no night life or concerts. But the mountains, the rivers, the northern lights are beautiful, and there's no other campus like it. The campus does everything they can to make sure that anyone who wants to try any outdoor activities can do so, including snowshoeing, camping on glaciers, and kayaking. This is not a party school. But giving up Greek life for bonfires seems a fair trade to me.
