I don't even know where to begin. Let's just start with the professors. Only about 10% of the teaching staff actually cares about providing any possible knowledge to their students. Design teachers specifically are usually too busy cracking jokes at their students expense, talking to the their favorite 3 students, or surfing the web for random b.s. online, instead of teaching tutorials or helping you understand design programs. Most take at least a week to respond to any correspondence such as email. Thank the lord I found an entry level position at a design firm earlier in my college career, because I have learned more from them in the last 2 years than my entire 5 years at Drury.

Speaking of working while in college…if you have a job during your stay at Drury you will be chastised the entire time because you aren't "participating" enough on campus. Sorry, but I don't have parents who just toss money at me like I'm some sort of god-child who should have everything handed to them. I have to work for my dues. (Seriously the place has an over abundance of self-absorb/admiring/centered student population) Who wants to participate with the majority Greek Life douche-bags swarming on campus anyways?? I also switched from day classes after my first year to evening classes. Mainly because my tuition was cut in half if not more. Which is also just another reason for Drury to give even less of a shit about you.

I have been to the front office a few times for scheduling classes and seeking advice on how to graduate as fast as possible from this hell hole. My advisor my second year became sick so for over a year I didn't have one because of course Drury didn't think to just switch her students over to a different advisor. Even if you have an advisor the won't know what your major is half the time. For a campus of 1,500 approximately, the advisors can't even keep up with the 100 students under their umbrella to guide. They are never in their office either and most the time they will just switch you over to someone different every time you enter. They are also so broke at the moment they can't even replace needed items like a broken light in the camera studio…2 lights are required for the studio and learning about lighting effects.

Basically to sum up my experience at Drury, I have one last thing that has always irked me. When I went to take my Apex/Capstone class the professor I chose said, and I quote

No offense, but why did you pick me?
Oh, I don't know, maybe…just maybe because I am a graphic designer and I wanted to choose a graphic design teacher I had classes with. (Which he didn't even remember me class, even though I took 3 classes with him and was constantly showing better work than most) It was like he didn't want another student to oversee because he was too busy.

End of story: rudest, most worthless campus to ever attend. Especially if you work or (heaven forbid) have a life outside of campus. Go f@&% yourself Drury.

One good thing I will end with. For some reason the Drury reputation is awesome (why I will never know) but it has been the only to help me. So basically you pay for the name, not the education.
