Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time)
I could've gone to other, larger, more "prestigious" universities for free, but I chose SAU. (If you're doubting that, I'm a National Merit Scholarship Winner and scored in the 99.99 percentile on both the ACT and SAT.) I don't regret that because I've had plenty of opportunities that I know I wouldn't have had at other places. Since it's a small school, it's easier to be involved in pretty much everything. Plus, the professors are helpful, and I'm confident that I could ask any of the ones I've had for a letter of recommendation for medical school. That's priceless, because I've heard horror stories of kids who went to other universities only to end up far away from their initial goals. This isn't because they weren't capable, but because a committee had decided that they didn't want them to make it. I really didn't want that. I worked way too hard to get great test scores and a good GPA to waste it all. So I guess you could say that I haven't mentioned much specific to SAU only, and you're right. What I'm truly recommending is that you look past the name when you choose a university and think about yourself and how you would fit in. I knew that I would be miserable if I had gone far away to the East Coast or wherever just so I could flaunt a "designer" degree. The point is, no, SAU isn't exactly the coolest place to go to school, and Magnolia isn't exactly the best place to live, but it's only 4+ years of your life.
