I am a female student from Atlanta and I have enjoyed GSU and plan on graduating from here but some things really could be better. The most important factor is safety and security, both of which are poor. Nonstudents routinely get into the residence halls and steal stuff and there have been some assaults, both indoors and outdoors. There are plenty of police but they mostly just drive around and look. The campus is very pretty and well maintained but there really isn't much to do (except for sports events). Statesboro is a dump with very snobby people who really don't want the students—just their money! The faculty is well qualified but not really that motivated—GSU caters to C+ students so they do what they have to and not much more. I still believe that there is enormous potential here if the administration would have higher admission standards and the faculty had greater expectations.
