The Group meditation is normally not able to be accurately accounted for so many students have their GPA lowered unfairly.

The warmth first felt went arriving is planned as a type of "love bomb" that is equal parts lies and desperation to keep you to stay. They are aware of the chemical reactions they are manipulating to make you feel special during your first few weeks here.

The block system is super easy but there are still barely any teachers relevant to teach their subjects particularly in the Math, Education, and Business departments. Those have virtually zero relevant teachers.

There are people here who have been "meditating" with the TM and Sidha programs for 30 years and are poor, alone, and have no skills whatsoever. I have had the discomfort of having them ask me to do simple tasks for them like making facebook pages and running technology that they cannot understand… yet their minds are more coherent than mine? It's a very deep problem and concern when addressing the validity of what this university claims.

All IQ test improvement studies for TM where done by the university at the university FOR the university.

Even if you have paid for food and housing they require you to work if you are not taking a class for no pay whatsoever.

They will talk a lot about the "maharishi effect" that makes a surrounding area peaceful and can give world peace. I have almost been fatally stabbed twice since coming to fairfield and both times the school treated me with a bias and punished me unfairly. The first was from a girl trying to destroy my room after sleeping with me and the second was a guy who stole a $350 guitar+amp from me and then chased me around with a knife when i found him and tried to retrieve my property. For both incidents I was suspended.

If you begin to ask any questions about the price of TM mediation, the oil company and banking affiliations of our trustees, the fear our community has of losing the "knowledge" of maharishi, or that the campus is literally falling apart OR ANYTHING CONTROVERSIAL AT ALL, you are shunned, ridiculed, and in some cases harassed by the community immediately.

There is not as great of a community as advertised online. The students are very much loners and introverts there to "heal" or rid themselves of "trauma" through maharishi's methods and therefore disassociate themselves from the surroundings at Mahesh's request and only associate with those who do the same Maharishi activities.

The ($1000) TM mediation technique is actually scientifically based on the ($15) Relaxation Response and this is heavily hidden and disregarded at the university.

The school's most major trustees hypocritically front programs to make the world more eco-friendly but keep fortunes from Oil stocks and whole oil companies that provide zero value to Fairfield but keep them rich.

It is not, by any means, easy to adjust any policy in the school. They keep archaic policies on the books, like dress code and P.E. requirements, even though no one does them or is upheld to them. Even majority signed petitions are regularly dismissed and never confronted by the trustees.

The school lacks integrity in that it does not put up many qualities of how the classes are graded on their website. This includes the

class that is no more than counting your attendance to group meditations and giving you a GPA grade for that.

The school is very Maharishi-propaganda-oriented and will not allow clubs to form around specific subjects such as yoga, spirituality, alternative meditation techniques, and many many more.

Their "scientific" yogic flying program refuses anyone who has affiliation to another spiritual teacher than Maharishi.

This is not a negative review because I truly believe, in a very different way than the university, that Consciousness of Mind is the cause of all effects in matter and not the other way around. Very few colleges share this view and I believe that if we give power to the people and the students who work and study at this university than a proper balance recognition can be gained for this university by its upstanding dedication to the science of consciousness and improved brain function. But we will need a surgical procedure to adjust the dogmatic charisma of the fearful people in this community.
