cannot even give this institution a one star; that's how sad it is. Please do your DILIGENT research before even applying to MIIS or committing to their degree program, and make absolutely sure that what you plan to study there will be useful to you personally or will even lead you to the career you want.

I went in with vague notions that an MA in International Policy (International Affairs) would lead toward bigger and better opportunities. I was so n?ive and very impulsively impractical, which really cost me to this day and for the next 40 years very, very dearly. It cost me over $88,000 plus their extra non sensible charges to earn a Master's degree.

MIIS is really and honestly an outrageously overrated school, and I had many criticisms of the quality of curriculum and instructions as well as professional guidance during my attendance at MIIS. Looking back, I really wish that I had cut my financial and personal losses and quit after the first term. However, I have spent the last several years in and out of low-wage, entry-level positions, none of which have been very gratifying. At MIIS my language skills did not improve that much; I learned how to write a policy memo, which is not useful in the real world and write a grant (truly useless), picked up a little economics and information about how the UN works. That is about it!

Don't naively buy into their aggressive SALES PITCH and believe that MIIS would be a great career move for you. Many of my friends and schoolmates who I met there did; and just like me, they came away severely disappointed and super financially broke!

However you can get a master's degree but will surely carry over a hundred thousand dollars in student loan debts and will not get anything back for it except for a minimum wage job. Your huge student loan debt that will probably take you over 40 years to pay, which is my case right now. This is very, very sad because I did not do my due diligent research about this school! Seriously consider your local community college or a less expensive university with better credentials and a more focused degree program that will lead to the kind of job you want before making a potentially grave mistake.

Don't do it!!!
