Major: Nursing (This Major's Salary over time)
The nursing program at Pensacola state College is one of the biggest mistakes that i've made regarding my career and my future.I'll start with The admin, but more specifically the administrative assistant, who is void of emotion or zest for her position and seems agitated with students who need extra direction or have more than a couple questions. And this is only the beginning of things to come. This is how PSC nursing school operates, yet they will have you jump through rusty hoops of fire and perform the most arduous of tasks with very little to no time at all to accomplish them, but not reciprocate, when you're in need. You will be expected to know what is going on, even when the instructor does not, many instructors contradict one another and the NCLEX as well, for that matter. Most of the instructors use intimidation to get the students to perform well. What they don"t seem to realize, is that when such an atmosphere of fear and insecurity amongst the students has been created, failure is not only near to impossible to avoid, but also imminent! For example, one of the lab instructors had heard that one of the students weren't thrilled about her style of teaching. So, the offended instructor handled the situation by reminding the class that the nursing community is small and good luck finding jobs, as she's already alerted hospital staff that is in charge of employment, to consider not hiring her students. Were not talking about students being disrespectful towards this lab instructor during class, but students who were merely speaking amongst themselves during a scheduled break time and when they thought thier privacy was protected. Since when was it a crime to have opinions. Is this what PSC wants to produce..obidient servants who think and act like machines, with no right to an opinion or thought of thier own? I could honestly go on and on for days on the matter, but please learn from my mistake and consider any of the other nursing school options in the area. PSC nursing school is a hoax!
