That is a pretty accurate summary, I'm going through the same thing, everyone I know is either rich and their beacuase their parents or ready to leave for elsewere. Also the email problem you mentioned, I've had that with everything I try to do so it isn't just you |
Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
For some people sacred heart is great, namely long island people. However, I plan on transferring and I know a lot of other students who are planning on transferring as well. Almost all of them say the same thing: "it's not what I thought it was going to be." The student body is made up of a lot of students who are only at school because mommy and daddy had the cash to burn. The academics are not challenging unless you are interested in bio/nursing/PT. That is not to say that there aren't so great students here as well who are kind, friendly, and truly interested in a good education. Unfortunately, most of those students are the ones trying to get out of here so I don't think they will ever be the majority. Clubs are pretty much non existent so it's hard to meet people outside of your dorm. I signed up for multiply clubs but was never emailed back with any information about when or where they were meeting. And upon further prompting all they said was that they would get back to me…nope. There really is nothing around here but a mall and that gets old. You basically need a car or you're trapped. They claim that they are "close to New York City" but they are not close enough to take a trip in whenever you want. The one redeeming quality about SHU that I will be sad to leave is the faculty. Almost all the professors I've had have been wonderfully helpful and supportive this semester. I do enjoy the small class sizes because they are very personal. All in all SHU was a bad choice for me but for some people it would be a great match. I say think very carefully before coming here and make sure you visit and talk to different kids on campus.
