I attended this college for 2 quarters.BrightNursing
I attended this college for 2 quarters. In that time I held a 3.8 GPA. I have a Bachelor's degree from USF but because it is difficult to get into a nursing program in a Regionally accredited state school I decided to try a for profit college. Big mistake. Key words for profit. That is all this school thinks about. From the time I enrolled I was lied to. The guy told me that they are accredited by the League of Nursing. Not true. they do not have NLN accreditation. The Dean of Nursing Joanna Hill is a callous unethical woman who has no business being an instructor let alone a Dean. After speaking to some of the student who were getting close to graduation, I found out that she was changing grades on the students who she thought would possibly fail the NCLEX exam so that they would fail the program and not be able to take the state test. This way it would not affect the schools NCLEX pass rates. This was later verified by a former instructor who left because of this unethical behavior. These students got all the way to the end or close to the end of their program and were failed. They lost 47,000 worth of education because no schools will accept their credits. 2 students said they can't even find jobs because Fortis has such a bad reputation in the industry as does Dr. Hill. I was fortunate enough to find out quickly and transferred to another college before losing all of my financial aid money. I interviewed several other schools before transferring and every school was familiar with Fortis unethical practices because many of them have employed the former nursing instructors that left Fortis. If this review helps just one person save their time and money than it was worth my time writing it. Please check out other schools. Sure they have a great sales pitch of you can get right in- no waiting list, don't need pre-requisites but none of this matters if you can't get a job to pay your outrages loans off.
